Using Revision Checking
To use the revision checking facility, pick REVCHK in FILE. The menu appears on the screen; it contains the following commands:
LOAD FILES
COMPARE
VIEW
RESET SHOW
SHOW DIFF
CONTINUE
SET COLOR
Before you begin, you must have two drawings available, for example:
dt_cs_rev06 The original drawing
dt_cs_rev10 The revised drawing
1. Pick REVCHK in FILE
2. Pick LOAD FILES
3. Enter `dt_cs_rev06'
4. Enter `dt_cs_rev10'
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting displays the two drawings overlapping.
5. Pick Geometry in COMPARE
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting compares the location of the geometry and texts (without comparing the parts structure) in the two drawings and shows the result of the comparison in different colors according to the following defaults:
Blue
Identical geometry elements in both drawings
Green
Differences in the original drawing
Red
Differences in the modified drawing
The other options in the COMPARE menu do the following:
+ Annotat
In addition to Geometry, this option also compares the properties of the geometry and texts--linetype, color, text attributes, info texts--and the dimensions and hatches in both drawings.
+ Parts
In addition to + Annotat, this option compares the parts structure in both drawings.
If you modify a drawing solely by a scaling factor, picking Parts displays all elements in red (indicating a difference). However, the options + Geometry and + Annotat displays elements and annotation in blue (indicating identical elements).
*
Both drawings must have the same location compared to the drawing origin to get meaningful results from the comparison.
Be careful when working with scaling factors (PART SCALE).
