The Creo Elements/Direct Drafting User Interface
The Creo Elements/Direct Drafting user interface is designed to ensure a short learning curve and to provide maximum efficiency in 2D CAD projects.
All of the menus, dialog boxes, commands, functions and tools specified in this manual are accessible via the Creo Elements/Direct Drafting user interface. The following figure illustrates the general (default) layout of the Creo Elements/Direct Drafting user interface.
The Creo Elements/Direct Drafting User Interface
1. The top menu bar. This menu bar provides access to menus such as File and Setup. Optionally, you can use hotkeys to select menu items.
2. The toolbar. Move the cursor to each of these icons to display the associated tooltips.
3. The design and drafting related menus.
4. The drawing area. This is the area where you will create and modify drawings. Additional viewports can be created in this area.
5. The bottom menu bar (which includes the Status Line). The first two items in this menu bar reflect the current cursor position. The other items enable you to select or specify settings such as the current linetype, color, catch range, dimensioning standard, layer, scale, angular unit, length unit and current part.
6. The prompt line. This line tells you how to proceed to complete the current operation.
7. The user input line. When prompted, enter the required input (such as a numerical value or a name) into this line.
Optionally, you can run multiple Creo Elements/Direct Drafting instances (separate Creo Elements/Direct Drafting windows) at the same time. Refer to Creating a New Drafting Instance for further information.
