Phone Home Data Collection
Codebeamer AI includes a Phone Home mechanism that collects limited telemetry data required for product management, support, and compliance.
The following data is collected periodically:
• Codebeamer AI service version (conditional)
• Customer Organization ID (conditional)
• AI plugin version
• User count within the Codebeamer AI entitlement group
• Timestamp of data collection
Phone home behavior depends on whether PTC Analytics service is configured:
• For PTC-hosted deployments: Phone home data is sent securely to PTC Analytics along with the customer organization ID. Codebeamer AI service version is not sent.
• For customer-hosted deployments: Phone home data is logged locally to the Codebeamer platform file system at /home/appuser/codebeamer/tomcat/logs/cbai_phone_home_data.log. In this case, the organization ID is not logged.
Phone home data collection runs automatically every 30 days after saving the Azure AD or PTC SaaS Platform configuration. This does not require manual configuration.
Administrators can use these logs for internal auditing and troubleshooting.
