Creating Work Items Based on an Item Template
To create a new work item from an item template, click the 
Create item from a template icon, and select the template to use from the dropdown menu.

• Document view
• Document edit view
• Table view
• Tracker cardboard
• Release cardboard
• Work item details
To create an template based child item on a document view or document edit view page, right click the item and select the Insert a new Child Item from Template option from the context menu in the tree view.
While creating a new item using an item template, if any field values are no longer valid—such as after a tracker configuration change—a warning message appears. The item is still created using the valid and existing values.
