Import Work Items
After reviewing the Preview screen and configuring the desired rules and actions for each work item, click Save to complete the import. An information window displays the number of work items successfully imported. Codebeamer creates the work items based on the selected actions , for example, import into the current tracker, another tracker, etc. If the work items are imported into a common tracker, their parent-child relationships are preserved.
If child elements are imported into a different tracker than their parent, Codebeamer creates a Depends on association between the corresponding work items. Additionally, if any fields in the child item's tracker are configured to accept work items from the parent item's tracker, those fields are automatically populated.
For example, if the parent item is imported into the Tasks tracker and the child item into the Test Cases tracker, the Verifies field in the child item is filled with the parent item because the Verifies field accepts references from the Tasks tracker.
