Dashboards
This topic introduces Codebeamer X dashboards with their main functions.
Dashboards are available to create expressive and informative boards.
Overview
On the Dashboards pages the users can create dashboards that can have widgets. With the widgets, you will be able to visualize your reports or other data. Users can choose from the available widgets, which form the basis of all dashboards. These widgets are rendered using user-selectable layouts; and support drag-and-drop to simplify arranging the widgets within the layout.
The dashboards can be managed to hierarchy, and permission settings are also available. The project-related dashboards can be exported via project export.
Why Dashboards?
Extracting and presenting the enormous amount of information stored in an application lifecycle management (ALM) system can be difficult at times. Different summaries need to be presented to different audiences in different situations, using different scopes.
Types of Dashboards
Dashboards can be created for a user, shared with another user, or for projects. Depending on the access, projects dashboards can be accessed.
User Dashboards
These are your personal dashboards and is listed under
My dashboards. While creating a new dashboard, if a project is not selected, then the dashboard becomes a personal dashboard. Every user has a default personal dashboard. You can create multi-level hierarchical child dashboards. You can rearrange the dashboard hierarchy using the drag-and-drop feature. All the dashboards must have unique name. You can share the personal dashboards with other members by updating the dashboard properties. For more information, see
Dashboard Properties.
Shared Dashboard
This is a personal dashboards that is shared with another user and listed under Shared dashboards. The shared dashboard will appear on the list if atleast one personal dashboard is shared with you.
Project Dashboard
If a project has at least one dashboard, the project dashboards will shown on the dashboards page, and its dashboards will be listed under the project. You can share the project dashboards with other members by updating the dashboard properties. For more information, see
Dashboard Properties.
The project related dashboards, along with widgets, can be exported and imported in the projects.
For information on widgets that can be added to a Dashboard, see
