Mass Edit
The Mass Edit feature allows users to update multiple items, properties, or fields of multiple items in the same tracker during a single operation. This update process runs parallel on the selected items. If any update fails, the remaining updates still get completed.
Initiating Mass Edit
To start the Mass Edit operation: and select Mass Edit. You can initiate Mass Edit operation from other pages as well. The mass edit dialog box is displayed on the screen. Select any field from the More list that you want to update. There are two other options available in the mass edit operation dialog box:
1. Select one or more items from the trackers table view.
2. Click

and select
Mass Edit.The

3. Update the required fields. For more information on updating fields, see Setting Field Updates.
4. Select the Check mandatory fields during Mass Edit checkbox to receive an email notification if a mandatory field value is not specified.
5. Select the Allow Partial Updates checkbox to ensure that the changes are either applied to all the selected items or none.
6. Click Save to start the mass edit operation.
You can initiate the mass edit operation from other pages also.

When you start a mass edit operation, a notification with the mass edit job ID will appear on the screen. After the mass edit operation is completed, you will receive two notifications. The first notification will show the status of the mass edit operation (successful or failed) along with a hyperlink to access the mass edit report. The second notification will contain the job ID and confirm that the operation is finished. You will also receive email notifications with the job ID once the mass edit operation starts and after completion. Another email contains the details of the items that passed or failed in the mass edit operation and the reasons for the failure. Additionally, the email will include a hyperlink to access the mass edit report.
Setting Field updates
In a single mass edit operation, you can update the following:
• Single field.
• Multiple fields.
• Multiple values for fields.
Updating a single field.
To update a single field select the required field from the More list. Based on the selection, either the Set to list, the Value list, or both are displayed

For example, if you have selected the Priority field, the following lists are displayed:
• Set to
• Value
• Status
Updating Multiple Fields.
To start with the mass edit operation, select the required field from the More list. Based on the selection, either the Set to list, the Value list, or both are displayed To update another field, click More below the previously selected field. The following image displays how multiple fields are updated:

Update Multiple Values for Fields.
To update a single field select the required field from the More list. Based on the selection, either the Set to list, the Value list, or both are displayed To update multiple values for the same field, click More.... This option allows you to apply multiple value update operations on the fields that supports updating multiple values. For example, if you select the Assigned To field, the More... option is displayed. Click More... to add another field value update operation for the Assigned To field.
To edit the saved values, click the saved value, or hover over the selected field and click

. Click

to remove the selected field.
Click

to remove additional field value update operations. You can reorder additional field value update operations using the drag-and-drop operation in the edit mode.
Creating a Baseline in Mass Edit
You can create a baseline during the mass edit operation.
To create a baseline:
1. Click Create Baseline located at the bottom of the Mass Edit dialog box.
2. Enter the following details:
◦ Name
◦ Description
◦ Signature
3. Click Save.
If the mass edit operation fails, the baseline for the failed items is not created. Similarly, if no items are updated during the mass edit operation, the baseline is not created.
The following use-cases describe the locking and unlocking of the items during the mass edit operation:
