JIRA Synchronization Settings
To synchronize a tracker with JIRA, go to the

(more) menu for the relevant tracker, and select
Synchronize with Jirafrom the context menu.
If the current tracker has not been associated with any JIRA Project and Issue Type, Codebeamer offers to perform the configuration as shown in the following image. Click on Yes to proceed.

One-To-One JIRA Synchronization
1. To log in, provide the following information:
◦ Server—TheWeb-Address (hostname, IP-address and port) of the remote Atlassian JIRA© Server.
◦ Username
◦ Password

2. From the Issues field select the relevant JIRA Project and Issue Type in the to associate with the current tracker as shown in following image
| • The specified JIRA user needs to have at least the Browse projects permission for the selected JIRA project to continue with the synchronization • JIRA does not have an issue hierarchy. There can be Sub-Tasks, but these are actually issues with a different issue type. ◦ Sub-Tasks of the selected issues are not synchronized (imported) with Codebeamer. ◦ All items in the Codebeamer tracker are synchronized (exported) to JIRA as a flat issue list. There is no parent / child relationship in JIRA. |
One-To-Many JIRA Synchronization
Multiple JIRA instances can be synchronized with a single Codebeamer user on the tracker level.
To open the
JIRA Synchronization Settings window, click on the

(more) menu of the relevent tracker, and select
Synchronize with JIRA.
• From the
JIRA Server field, click the

downward arrow to choose from the available instances.
• To record new instances, click the

(
Edit this JIRA Server) icon and provide the relevant
Username and
Passwordvalues. Add optional notes in the
Description field.
After importing, JIRA users are mapped to the proper Codebeamer users.
After exporting, Codebeamer users are mapped to the correct JIRA users of the target JIRA server.
JIRA Synchronization Direction
The Direction field sets the synchronization direction. The available Direction options are Import-Only, Export-Only, and Synchronize Bi-directionally. The default synchronization direction is Import only.
By default, the synchronization is enable in the specified direction. To disable the synchronization, clear the Enabled checkbox.
