Initiating Test Runs
To initiate a new test run, complete the following steps:
1. Select the Tracker tab and click .
2. Under Configuration Items, select the Test Sets category. The Test Sets > All Items page opens.
3. Select an existing test set.
Alternatively, you can also create a test run from a baselined version of a test set. Select a baseline under Baselines, then select a test set from a test set tracker.
4. Click New Test Run in the test set toolbar. The Test Runs > Submit Work Items page opens.
5. Choose the test run's priority, the members of the project who should execute it, provide a descriptive name, and optionally add a detailed description.
6. Choose one or more test configurations and one release that the test cases contained by this test set should be executed on.
7. Click Save. Your test run item is created and ready for execution.
*
The test set may restrict the selectable configurations and releases to allow running it only on a subset of defined parameters. This restriction is part of the test set definition. For more information, see Organizing Test Cases to Test Sets.
8. The testers receive notification emails about the newly defined test work items assigned to them.
