Exporting Work Items
Exporting issues from Codebeamer to Round-trip Excel documents starts with navigating to the tracker which contains the issues to be exported. Within the tracker choose the Export to Office action in the more menu.
You can:
• Export all data displayed in the current view
• Or export the selected items only. Use the check boxes or control-clicking in the tree in the Document-view mode to pick the items which will be exported. Also the selected items' children are optionally exported.
When the Excel export is selected Codebeamer will build an Excel document which contains the issues displayed by the current view and the download of that Excel document will start in few seconds automatically. The generated file name will contain the current project's and tracker's name, so it is easier to identify later where that export file is originated from.
Customizing export content using custom views
The export content is, by default, controlled by the tracker's configuration; only the fields and data of the tracker are exported.
To export or view the work items of a tracker differently, such as changing which fields are exported or the order of fields, you can create a custom view for the tracker. To create a custom view for the tracker, click the New view link inside the action menu (see the previous screenshot), and the dialogbox appears where you can define the new view of the tracker.
However if you want to export or view the Work Items of a tracker somehow differently, like change which fields are exported or the order of fields then you can create a custom view for the tracker. That is initiated by the clicking on the "New view" link inside the action-menus of the top-right (see screenshot above), and then the dialog appears where you can define the new view of the Tracker.
