Adding Members To a Project
By adding new members to a project, the project administrator can build a collaborative project team. Each project member can have different project permissions depending upon the members' roles.
To add members to a project:
1. Open a project.
2. Click Members tab.
3. Click Add new Member The Add new Member dialog box opens..
Use the following to add the members:
• Add new Member from codebeamer
• Add new Member from LDAP/Active Directory
• Invite new Users to Project by Email
Add new Member from Codebeamer
To add a member from Codebeamer:
1. Select users from the accounts list.
2. Pick one or more roles to be associated with the new member.
3. Click Add.
You can specify a description or explanation in the box below the account chooser which is visible in account member history.
Add new Member from LDAP or Active Directory
Project administrators can directly find and add users from the configured LDAP or active directory.

To add a member from the LDAP or active directory:
1. Start search for LDAP or active directory users using the box above the user result table (next to Search)
2. Enter the email address, or a part of the email, name, account name or search for the information.
3. After the result is available in the table, select the account using the checkbox in the first column. The details of the columns are described below.
4. Pick one or more roles to be associated with the new member.
5. Click Add.
LDAP or Active directory account result table column meanings:
• Account—The account name (this is the Codebeamer username)
• State—One of DOES NOT EXIST or EXIST, that is, whether the account is already added to Codebeamer or not.
• Email—The mapped email value (this is the Codebeamer email address)
• Account name—The account's full name (this is the Codebeamer user's first and last name)
• Distinguish name—The distinguish name of the account.
You can send a description or explanation to the added account or accounts using the box below the account result list (if you select the checkbox).
Invite new Users to Project by Email
You can invite users by email address. If the user does not exist in Codebeamer the user is created and automatically added to the current project.

To invite users by email:
1. Enter each user email address in the box on the left side (if you need more boxes, click Add more)
2. Pick one or more Roles to be associated with the new member
3. Enter invitation message below the email text fields
4. Click Add.
Codebeamer sends an invitation email to every specified email address that is not already registered in Codebeamer (otherwise the process is similar to adding members). The invitation email contains some basic information about the project and the invitation message.
To activate the registration, users must click the activation link in the invitation message. After a user clicks the activation link, the User Activation dialog box opens. Enter the required details in this dialog box and click Save. After entering the details, invited users must specify the mandatory properties in Codebeamer to complete the registration process.
