Traceability Document View Tree Drag and Drop Guide
*
Starting from Codebeamer 10.0 the Traceability Document View allows to drag-and-drop tree nodes.
Modifier keys during drag and drop
No modifier - move source node to the target nodes possible field
Ctrl - copy source node to the target nodes possible field
Shift - Move source item to targets tracker
Shift+Ctrl - Copy source item to targets tracker
Available and prevented drag and drop moves
Available moves
Initial node on reference or initial node if there are any fields available to save
Reference node on, before or after reference node
Prevented moves
Initial and reference node on before or after the root node
Initial node before or after reference node (order of the reference nodes is determined by the Traceability Document View configuration)
Reference node before or after initial or reference node (order of the reference nodes is determined by the Traceability Document View configuration)
Initial node moves
Movement of the tracker type nodes on an initial level
Initial to initial node
The single and multi-node movement also supported with or without child initial or reference nodes or both.
Before node: Moves source node/nodes before the target node as a sibling.
After node: Moves source node/nodes after the target node as a sibling.
On node: Moves source node/nodes to the target node as a child.
Reference node moves
Movement of the references from the Traceability Document View configuration.
The order of the nodes is determined by the Traceability Document View configuration.
Reference to an initial or reference node
The single and multi-node drop also supported with or without child initial nodes.
On the multi-node drop, only nodes from the same tracker and in the same direction (upstream or downstream) are supported.
If the target node only contains one possible field to save the source node the item will be saved automatically.
Multiple nodes can only be dropped to multi selection fields, otherwise, an error message should appear.
If multiple possible fields are present, a context menu should be rendered after the drop with the possible fields. Item/items are saved to the chosen field.
It is possible to drop multiple nodes from the same type and direction but from multiple parents and/or field to one multi selection field.
During this type of movement, the sibling items of the source and target item should preserve order and number as expected.
