Sometimes, a Word document import fails because the document contains broken structures or is in an old format that is not compatible with Codebeamer. This results in an error message like this:

Use Word Document Inspector to fix the broken Word document. For details, see:Using Document Inspector.

Open the document in Word, go to the File menu. On the Inspect Document menu, select Inspect Document, to open the Document Inspector.

When the window opens, keep all the selections.

When the result window opens, you can remove all problems that were detected (especially the custom XML Data). When done with the cleanup, save the Word document to a new file using Save-as .docx. Once this is complete, the fixed Word document should be importable to Codebeamer.
