Shared Fields are globally defined field types that you can use to group different fields from different trackers. Please find below all necessary assets to manage Shared fields in Codebeamer.

• Filtering by Shared Fields: Reports.
• From Codebeamer 10.1:
◦ Adding Shared Fields to the Reports result: Reports.
◦ Adding Shared Fields to Table View layout: Trackers.
◦ Adding Shared Fields to the Traceability Table View initial and further levels: Create an Traceability Table View.
◦ Adding Shared Fields to Document Edit View: Document Edit View.
• Shared Fields is used when copying items from one Tracker to another: the fields of the same Shared Field will be automatically mapped.
• Shared Fields is used for copying values into generated Bugs during runs of Tests in Test Management.

Shared fields are only supported for Custom fields, currently there is no connection with built in fields and custom field business logic.
