Arbortext Publishing Engine for APP
Overview
Arbortext Publishing Engine for Advanced Print Publisher (APE for APP) is a dedicated version of Arbortext Publishing Engine. It provides Arbortext Layout Developer users with access to the APP composition engine for APP / ALD templates using Arbortext Publishing Engine as a server.
Installation
To install the Publishing Engine for APP, download the PE-APP-<release number>.zip folder from PTC Downloads site. Extract the files and run the PESetup.exe file.
Follow the installation process for Publishing Engine as described in the
Arbortext Publishing Engine Installation Guide.
Post installation, you must update the e3config.xml file to handle the activation file extensions.
Publishing
The APE for APP processes f=app requests only. The publishing process is same as the standard Arbortext Publishing Engine.
Following requests are not supported in APE for APP:
• f=convert requests;
• Publishing with f=acl, f=java, f=javascript, f=vbscript;
• Graphic conversion;
• Windchill Integration;
• Requests from Arbortext Editor.
