The Arbortext PE Request Manager is a web application that uses two configuration files. The PE_HOME\e3\e3\WEB-INF\web.xml file is a web application deployment descriptor file. This file can specify servlet mappings and authentication. The Arbortext Publishing EnginePE_HOME\e3\e3\WEB-INF\e3config.xml file is used to define Arbortext Publishing Engine and Arbortext PE 子进程 configuration. Both of these configuration files are explained in the Configuration Guide for Arbortext Publishing Engine guide.

If you are using Arbortext Publishing Engine as a publishing server for Arbortext Editor clients, the release of Arbortext Editor on each workstation must be supported by the release of Arbortext Publishing Engine installed on the server. A release mismatch will be reported as an error. Refer to System and Software Requirements for Arbortext Publishing Engine for release compatibility information.
