Organization of This Guide
This guide is organized as follows:
The layout of the document is object-focussed, constituting a reference for configuring specific objects or tasks within a template, rather than a step-by-step guide to writing a template.
There are four main types of information described in the FOM:
Information about the PTC Advanced Print Publisher application itself and access to variables, macros, strings, and templates
The structure of the template and access to the main components of a document - page objects, content streams, graphics, etc.
Access to the text formatting objects - paragraphs, styles, tables, blocks, etc.
Datatypes
Information types - paths, lengths, tabs, etc.
Application and Formatting contain descriptions of datatype objects.
