File entities occupy a separate line in the Document Map, accompanied by the file entity icon, the name File entity, and the actual entity name. When a file entity is expanded, its contents are shown hierarchically as child elements on lines below it in the Document Map.

There is no expand or collapse icon for file entities in the Document Map. Expanding and collapsing file entities is controlled exclusively by selecting View > File Entities.
