CGM
Format type — Vector and hybrid files including embedded vector images
Operating systems — Windows
CGM is an international open standard (
www.cgmopen.org) and has also been used in a more recent implementation as WebCGM (
www.w3.org/graphics/WebCGM/). The format provides support for loss-free interchange of vector graphics.
Arbortext Editor displays CGM graphics in an embedded
Arbortext IsoView control.
Consider the following items when using CGM images with Arbortext Editor:
• CGM levels 1 and 4 are fully supported in Arbortext Editor. All CGM level 3 elements are supported except segments.
• CGM support in Arbortext Editor complies with the following industry profiles:
◦ Air Transport Association, ATA Specification 2100 Graphics Exchange 2.10
◦ DoD- CALS MIL-D-28003A, Digital Representation for Communication of Illustration Data
◦ Petroleum Industry Profile- POSC CGM*PIP II/2
◦ WebCGM 1.0, 2.0, and partial support for 2.1
◦ S1000D D2.3 (restrictions applied according to the specification)
• In some cases, you might need for a certain font to be used in a CGM graphic. You can accomplish this by setting up a font substitution in the font import section of the Arbortext IsoViewOptCGM.prf preferences file. For display in Arbortext Editor, you would modify the Arbortext-path\isoview\OptCGM.prf file. For publishing, you would modify the Arbortext-path\isoconvert\Preferences\OptCGM.prf file.
For more information on modifying the OptCGM.prf file, refer to the Arbortext IsoDraw documentation.
• If an unsupported font is included in a CGM graphic, Arbortext Editor substitutes a supported font.
