Configuring Arbortext Publishing Engine in a Cluster Environment
The Windchill Visualization Service (WVS) uses Arbortext Publishing Engine to publish XML and SGML documents stored in a PTC Server to outputs such as PDF and HTML. When the PTC Server is in a non-clustered environment, the WVS provides Arbortext Publishing Engine with all of the information required to publish a document. However, when the PTC Server is in a cluster environment, additional configuration is needed for Arbortext Publishing Engine.
When the PTC Server is in a cluster environment, you must include the following PTC 伺服器連線 configuration files in the Arbortext Publishing Engine<Arbortext-Path>\adapters\com.ptc.prowt.arbortext directory:
• siteprefs.xml — You must provide the required information for your PTC Server, especially the Proxy Server and Proxy Server Port for the cluster.
• userprefs.xml — This file must be present, but you only need to provide a copy of the template file.
Once you have the configuration files in place, you can use Arbortext Publishing Engine Interactive to test whether you can connect to the PTC Server in the cluster. Follow these steps to test your connection:
1. Ensure that the <Arbortext-Path>\lib\installprefs.acl file contains the following lines:
set featureDMS=on
set featureAdapterWindchill=on
2. Launch Arbortext Publishing Engine Interactive by choosing Arbortext Publishing Engine Interactive from its shortcut on your Arbortext Publishing Engine program group.
3. In Arbortext Publishing Engine Interactive, choose > to invoke the Connect dialog box.
4. In the Connect dialog box, attempt to connect to the PTC Server in the cluster.
If you can connect to the PTC Server in the cluster, Arbortext Publishing Engine is successfully configured for the Windchill Visualization Service.
