Alias Map Error Handling
The Alias Map Editor will report the following errors when validating an alias map. Arbortext Editor will also report these errors if it detects them when loading an alias map.
The alias of an element is the real name of another element.
The alias of an element is the alias of another element.
The alias of an attribute is the real name of another attribute of the same element.
The alias of an attribute is the alias of another attribute of the same element.
The alias of a value is the real name of another value of the same attribute.
The alias of a value is the alias of another value of the same attribute.
The global alias of an attribute is the element-specific alias of an attribute.
The global alias of an attribute is the global alias of another attribute.
The global alias of an attribute value is the element-specific alias of an attribute value.
The global alias of an attribute value is the global alias of another attribute value.
The following errors will be reported only when validating an alias map in the Alias Map Editor:
The element-specific alias of an attribute is the global attribute alias of an attribute.
The attribute-specific alias of an attribute value is the global alias of an attribute value.
The global alias of an attribute is the real name of an attribute.
The global alias of an attribute value is the real name of an attribute value.
In addition, the Alias Map Editor will generate warnings during validation if it detects element, attribute, or attribute value names that are not defined in the DTD.
When loading an alias map file, Arbortext Editor will ignore aliases for element, attribute, or attribute value names that are not defined in the DTD. This allows you to use a single map file for two similar document types.
