Adjusting Row Height
Adjust row height using either of the following methods. Note that row height operations are not applicable to custom tables.
Specifying a Fixed Row Height using the Table Properties Dialog Box
1. Place the cursor in the row you want to adjust or select multiple rows.
2. Choose > .
The Table Properties dialog box opens.
3. Select the Row tab.
4. Choose
Natural to allow the contents of the row to determine its height, or choose
Fixed and provide a value and unit of measure
(cm, em, mm, in, pt, pc, pi, px).
Note that pixels (px) are the only supported unit of measure for HTML tables.
When you set a fixed table row, the height of the row displays in the Row Ruler in the specified unit of measure.
5. Click OK.
Specifying a Fixed Row Height with the Row Ruler
1. Position your mouse over the
Row Ruler tab you wish to move. When the pointer is over a tab, the cursor changes to a double arrow.
2. Adjust the row height using one of the following methods:
◦ Click the left mouse button and drag the tab to the desired height without changing the size of the other rows in the table.
When the row is set to a fixed height, a two headed arrow appears in the row ruler displaying the row height.

If you attempt to set a fixed row height to a size smaller than the current row contents, the row height value changes to red.

◦ Hold down the SHIFT key and click and drag the tab to size the rows above and below the tab without changing the overall height of the table.
This sets a fixed row height for both rows.
3. Release the left mouse button to set the fixed row height. The affected rows now have new fixed row height settings. If the rows were previously natural height, they will now have fixed row heights specified in inches (pixels for HTML tables). To change the row dimensions, click the right mouse button in the Row Ruler adjacent to the desired row and choose the desired units from the Convert Row Dimensions submenu.
Note that you can display the current height of all of the rows in the table by holding down the CTRL key while clicking on a tab in the ruler.
