Save As Properties Dialog Box
The Save As Properties dialog box displays when you select > in Arbortext Editor. Use this dialog to indicate where to save the contents of the currently open document in the PTC Server. The document may be burst into multiple objects, depending on the bursting rules specified for the associated document type.
Note that if the administrator has turned user override off in the
burst configuration, the
Save As Properties dialog box is not displayed. The object is saved into the PTC Server based on the rules defined in the burst configuration.
You can also use this dialog box to create a baseline for the new PTC server object or objects. Note that if your burst configuration does not enable you to set the folder in which to store new objects on the PTC Server, only the options related to setting a baseline might be displayed.
The Save As Properties dialog box contains the following options:
• Name — Enables you to enter the name of the new object.
• Folder — Enables you to specify the folder where the object will be stored in the PTC Server.
You can change the folder with the Browse button.
• Browse
— Enables you to change the default folder where new objects are created.
Selecting this button invokes the
Browser. Highlight a folder in the
Browser and either click the
Use Selection button or select the
Use Selection choice from the shortcut menu to change the default folder.
• Keep objects checked out — Indicates whether the new object and any associated child objects should be locked for editing once it is created.
Note that if the Keep objects checked out option is not checked, the new document object that appears in Arbortext Editor will be read-only.
• Remove From Workspace — Indicates that you want to remove all objects that you are saving to the PTC Server from your workspace.
Depending on the setting of the RemoveObjectFromWorkspaceAfterCheckIn parameter in the userprefs.xml configuration file, this option might be enabled by default.
• Use location rules for child objects — Indicates whether only the top-level object in the document is stored in the specified Folder.
When this option is enabled, child objects in the document are saved in the location specified by the location rules in the bursting configuration. If the location rules do not apply, child objects are saved in the user's home folder. Note that it is important to enable this option, so that document components that can be reused are saved in a folder that has the correct permissions.
• Create baseline — Indicates that you want to create a baseline on the PTC Server for this document.
Selecting this option enables the next two options.
• Baseline Name — Enables you to enter the name of the baseline.
A default name based on your PTC Sever user name and the current date and time might be provided.
• Baseline Folder — Enables you to specify the folder where the baseline will be stored in the PTC Server.
A default folder based on the PTC Server folder settings might be provided. Use the Browse button next to this option to change the default location.
