The EDZ format is a compressed zip file that stores an Engineering Data Package. The zip file contains ED or PVS product structures, OL viewable CAD parts, and other data files. The EDZ file can also contain views, which are saved, custom versions of an intelligent graphic.

The format is intended for use by the ProductView and ProductView Lite Edition applications. EDZ files can be displayed and manipulated in a web browser through a PTC plugin. Arbortext Editor also has the capability to manipulate the display of and to publish 3D EDZ graphics.
