Change Markup Dialog Box
Changes the type of markup located to the left of the cursor to another tag that is permitted at that location. The name of the markup to be changed appears at the top of the dialog box that opens when you choose change markup. The dialog box lists the tags that may be used in the cursor location. Use Mode to display the appropriate markup type. The markup can be an element tag, processing instruction, or entity reference.
The Change Markup dialog box contains the following options:
Selection list — displays names of all the valid markup (for the selected Mode) that you can insert at the cursor. Choose a name from the list. The list is automatically updated when you move the cursor or choose a different Mode.
*
If you have applied an alias map to your document and have selected Tags as the Mode, this list will display aliases, rather than real names, for tags that have been assigned aliases.
If the selected tag has been assigned a description, the description will display along the bottom of the dialog box.
Mode — determines the type of markup listed in the selection list. The default is Tags. The list has the following options:
Tags — basic SGML/XML document components.
Processing Instructions — tell the application what tasks to perform.
Text Entities — represent a text string or phrase.
File Entities — represent an external file included in the current document.
Graphic Entities — represent an external graphic file included in the current document.
Marked Sections — represent marked sections.
User Tags — represent tags created by the user.
OK — changes the selected markup and closes the dialog box.
*
To change the selected markup and close the dialog box, double-click a name or choose a name and press ENTER.
Cancel — closes the dialog box.
Help — brings up the Help Navigator.
*
Selecting Marked Sections as a mode in an SGML document brings up an empty selection list because you cannot use Change Markup to change marked sections or change another tag to a marked section.
