Working with a Publication Structure
If you are connected to a PTC Server that has the Windchill Service Information Manager feature installed, you can use the PTC Server’s HTML interface to open all of the DITA topics referenced in a Publication Structure or Publication Section in Arbortext Editor. The topics open in a single document called the resolved document for editing.
The resolved document enables you to edit the text and tags of the topics included in the structure or section. It also enables you to perform operations such as spell check or find/replace for all of the referenced topics. Any changes you make to the content of the resolved document are saved to the associated source topics in your local workspace. Note that you cannot make changes to the structure of your structure or section in the resolved document. The resolved document is a temporary document and only exists until you close it. If you want to retain the resolved document, you must choose File > Save As and save a copy of the document.
You open the resolved document from the PTC Server’s HTML interface in one of the following ways:
Choosing Open in > Open All Topics in Arbortext Editor from the Actions menu on the Publication Structure or Section information page.
Choosing Open All Topics in Arbortext Editor from the Tools action set on the information page’s Structure tab.
Choosing Open in > Open All Topics in Arbortext Editor from the shortcut menu on the information page’s Structure tab.
When the resolved document is open in Arbortext Editor, the following additional choices are available in the PTC Server connectionObject menu:
Check Out All Objects — Checks out all objects contained in the resolved document for editing.
The referenced objects are checked out to your local workspace. When you save the resolved document in Arbortext Editor, any changes made in the document are saved to the relevant topics in the workspace.
Check In All Objects — Raises the Check In All Objects dialog box where you can confirm the check in of all modified objects contained in the resolved document for editing.
Unmodified objects in the resolved document have their check out canceled. If you want to remove the objects you are checking in from your workspace, check the Remove From Workspace option on the dialog box. Depending on the setting of the RemoveObjectFromWorkspaceAfterCheckIn parameter in the userprefs.xml configuration file, this option might be enabled by default.
Undo Checkout of All Objects — Cancels the checks out all objects contained in the resolved document for editing.
