Exporting a Document
The PTC Server connection enables you to export an object, all of its dependant objects, and any referenced objects to a folder on the file system. The selected object and each of the referenced objects are exported as individual files. The file name of the exported objects will be the name and number properties of the object with the relevant file extension. For example, an XML object named Restrictions with the number 0000003710 would be exported with the file name Restrictions_0000003710.xml. All of the references in the XML objects will be updated to point to the exported files.
Follow these steps to export a document stored in a PTC Server:
1. If necessary, create a folder on the file system to hold the exported objects.
2. Highlight the object you want to export in the Browser hierarchy.
3. In the Browser, choose > .
The Browse For Folder dialog box opens.
4. In the Browse For Folder dialog box, browse to the folder where you want to export the file and select OK.
The document is exported to the file system.
