Inserting an XML Inclusion
You can insert file references as XML inclusions. XML inclusions are used by default when inserting a file reference into a document.
1. Choose > . The Locate File to Reference dialog box opens.
2. Navigate to the file you want to insert. Highlight and open the file. The contents of the file must be valid at the insertion point or the insertion will fail.
3. The file reference will now exist in your parent document as an included object, using a URI to reference the file location. The contents of the file referenced will be displayed.
4. The included object can be modified, and the changes will be reflected in the original document when you save changes to your parent document.

You cannot modify the object if the XML inclusion is in read-only files.

5. You can view and modify the markup that delineates the included object by choosing > . You can modify the URI that references the included object by modifying the attributes of the include tag.
6. The markup surrounding an included object contains a fallback tag. If an included object cannot be resolved, an error message is automatically generated by this markup. By default, this fallback text only provides the absolute path of the file reference as it existed when it was included in the document. You can add more detailed text if you wish.
