Counting the Words in a CJK Document
You can count the number of characters in documents in the CJK language locales (simplified and traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). Each CJK character in the highlighted selection or document is counted as a word. Note that while the response from Arbortext Editor provides the number of Asian characters counted, only CJK characters are counted.
