File Menu Introduction
The File menu contains commands that allow you to open a file, insert files, save files, print files, and exit the application.
New — Opens the New Document dialog box.
Open — Opens the Open dialog box.
Arbortext Editor can open a file located by a URL. Files opened from a WebDAV server or from a repository can be edited. Otherwise, a file specified using a URL is opened as read-only.
Open Reference — Opens the DITA topic or map document referenced in a DITA document.
This choice is only available when you are editing a DITA document. When a topic reference, xref or link, content reference, and so forth is selected in a DITA document, the text of this choice is suffixed with filename where filename is the file name of the referenced document. When a key reference or content key reference is selected, the text of this choice changes to Open Keyref: keyname where keyname is the name of the key contained in the keyref or conkeyref attribute.
Close — Closes a document without exiting the application.
Import — Offers the following options:
Save — Saves the document.
Save As — Opens the Save As dialog box.
If the document being saved has a document-scope macro (.mcf) file, a copy of the .mcf file will be saved with the new document's base name.
Save All — Saves all open documents.
Revert to Saved — Restores the document to the version most recently saved.
