Changing Generated Text Display
Generated text consists of text and markup. When performing tasks such as cutting or inserting nearby text or when checking elements attributes, you may wish to display the markup elements in the generated text. You can also change the color of the generated text to help differentiate between generated text and document content.
1. To display generated text, ensure > > is selected.
If this menu selection is not available, select
Full Menus in the >
Window preferences category.
2. Locate some generated text in a document. (The numbers in numbered lists are often created as generated text.)
3. To change how the generated text is updated, choose a setting for the update mode. The available options are Full, Partial (default), and None.

Note that the Full and Partial generated text update modes will decrease the performance of printing. If you are printing large documents, set the update mode to None or turn off the Show Generated Text option.

4. To change the default color of the generated text when editing your document, choose > and then select
Colors.
5. Select a color from the Generated Text color list to change the text color.
6. Click OK to save your choice. Generated text will appear in the selected color.
If you are working with Arbortext Styler and styling your document with a .style stylesheet, you can chose to display in Arbortext Editor any Styler Formatting Elements (SFEs) used to format the generated text. In Arbortext Styler, activate the > menu option.
