Installing Arbortext Editor when Visual C++2015 or C++ 2017 Redistributable is Installed
The Visual C++2015 and C++ 2017 Redistributable packages that were installed with Arbortext Editor 7.1 & 8.0 are not compatible with the Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable packages that are installed by Arbortext Editor 8.1.0.0.
When installing Arbortext Editor 8.1.0.0 on a machine on which Arbortext Editor 7.1 or 8.0 is already installed, use the following instructions to ensure successful installation of Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable:
• Uninstall Visual C++2015 or C++ 2017 Redistributable packages before running the Arbortext Editor 8.0.1.0 installer. It is possible to use Arbortext Editor 7.1 or 8.0 with Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable packages.
If you do not uninstall, then you will have to run the Arbortext Editor 8.1.0.0 installer three times: once to install the 32-bit Redistributable again to install the 64-bit Redistributable and finally a third time to install Arbortext Editor.
