Customizing the installprefs.acl File (Optional)
The Arbortext-path\lib\installprefs.acl file stores the “on” or “off” status of each of the Arbortext Editor product options. Each line in the installprefs.acl file is an Arbortext Command Language (ACL) set command for a specific product option. Each of these set commands is documented in the Arbortext Command Language Reference.
While the setup program creates the initial settings in this file, you may need to edit the installprefs.acl file for your site's specific needs. For example, if you have Arbortext Editor installed on a server for client access, all clients will use the installprefs.acl file from the server's installation directory. If you want certain clients to have specific product option settings, you will need to customize your installprefs.acl file.
Determine the features that should be available. Copy the default Arbortext-path/lib/installprefs.acl file, and edit the set feature commands accordingly.
Do this for each client-specific or group-specific set of features you want enabled. If you wish, you can rename the file (for example, doc_installprefs.acl or sales_installprefs.acl).
You can make custom installprefs.acl files automatically available by putting it in the user's Arbortext-path\custom\lib directory to load it automatically upon startup (avoiding the need to set an environment variable). Refer to Description of the custom directory structure in the Arbortext Help Center for more information.
You can set the APTINSTALLPREFS environment variable to the path and file name of the custom installprefs.acl file for each client or group. Navigate to the Advanced tab of the System Properties dialog box and choose the Environment Variables button.
