Using the PTC ALD Document to Debug a Stylesheet
You can save a document out of the PTC ALD Preview Window as an PTC ALD file. You can then open the file in PTC Arbortext Layout Developer— Desktop to further investigate any issues in its PTC ALD code. Changes made to the document here will be immediately visible without having to invoke further print preview actions for review.
To save the document from the PTC ALD Preview Window, use the Save As PTC ALD toolbar icon in the toolbar or the > menu option. When the document is saved, PTC ALD will break any links to external files and save them inside the output PTC ALD file. This ensure that none of the components are missing.
Once saved, the file can be opened in an equivalent version of PTC Arbortext Layout Developer— Desktop.
Opening the file in PTC Arbortext Layout Developer— Desktop makes each tag in the document available for direct edit. You can apply further changes or add other debug messages. Once you have made and tested changes here, you can replicate them in source edits in Arbortext Styler.
