Use the WMF (Windows MetaFile) file format if you want high-quality images for use on Windows platforms. WMF is a good choice if you need to scale images, since it provides the ability to resize images without distorting them. The resolution of a WMF image is based on the resolution of the output device.

The WMF file format is machine dependent. If you change the printer driver or print the WMF graphic from different devices, the image may display differently, especially if the graphic incorporates fonts that are not available on the new device.
