Publishing an Intelligent Graphic
Arbortext Editor supports publishing of intelligent graphics. However, in many published formats the intelligent graphic is converted to another type of graphic during the publishing process. Arbortext Editor handles the publishing of intelligent graphics in the following ways:
Print — Converted to an EPS graphic for Arbortext IsoView. Converted to a PNG graphic for Creo View.
Publish PDF File — Converted to a PDF graphic.
You can override this default behavior with graphicapptransform as a set command. For example, to convert Arbortext IsoView graphics to EPS, use set graphicapptransform=idr, idrz, iso, isoz:eps.
For more information, see set graphicapptransform.
Publish for Web — Determined by the user.
Whether an intelligent graphic is converted in this published format is determined by the setting of the following preferences:
graphicwebtransform
This preference enables you to define how you want any graphics converted when publishing for HTML outputs, including intelligent graphics. If this preference is set, it takes precedence over the intelligentgraphicsconversion preference. This preference is not set by default.
If you use this preference to convert graphics to WebCGM, you can also use the cgmprofile preference to set the CGM profile to which you want to convert the graphics.
intelligentgraphicsconversion
If this preference is set to on, all intelligent graphics in the document are converted to PNG or JPEG graphics (determined by the setting of the graphicdefaultwebformat preference).
If set to off, intelligent graphics are included in the published HTML file. In this case, if an initial view is set for an intelligent graphic, that view is the initial view displayed in the published HTML file. If an initial view is not set, the default view is used instead. Note that views are currently supported for CGM and 2D ISO, ISOZ, and PVZ graphics.
If set to prompt (the default), the Convert Intelligent Graphics check box is enabled in the Publish for Web and Publish to HTML File dialog boxes. In this case, you can choose whether to convert intelligent graphics when you publish the document.
If Arbortext IsoView or Creo View is already installed on the machine viewing the HTML, published intelligent graphics can be viewed in HTML. If Arbortext IsoView or Creo View is not installed on the machine viewing the HTML, you can set either the isoviewdownloaduri or creoviewdownloaduri advanced preference to point to a location where the application’s web installer is located to view intelligent graphics in published HTML documents. Note that viewing published intelligent graphics is only supported for Internet Explorer.
If you convert your CGM, ISO, or ISOZ intelligent graphics to WebCGM, you can use any viewer that supports WebCGM to view the intelligent graphics in HTML.
Publish HTML File — Handled the same as Publish for Web.
Publish for HTML Help — Converted to a PNG, JPEG, or GIF graphic (determined by the setting of the graphicdefaultwebformat preference).
Save as HTML — Converted to a PNG, JPEG, or GIF graphic (determined by the setting of the graphicdefaultwebformat preference).
Publish RTF File — Converted to a PNG, JPEG, CGM, or EPS graphic (determined by the setting of the graphicrtftransform preference).
