Linking from an Intelligent Graphic in a Non-DITA Document
Follow these steps to create a link from an object in an intelligent graphic in a non-DITA document:
1. Click on the intelligent graphic to activate the Arbortext IsoView or Creo View control.
2. Choose Insert > Link.
The Update Graphic Object Links dialog box opens. You use this dialog box to add and remove links associated with an object in an intelligent graphic. The dialog box provides a Links table that shows the links already defined for the graphic. You can click on one of the links in the table to highlight the object in the graphic associated with the link.
The dialog box also contains an Objects list that shows all of the objects defined in the graphic. You can view the objects by either their associated ID or name. When you select an object in the list, that object is highlighted in the graphic. Clicking on an object in the graphic selects it in the Objects list.
3. In the Objects list, select the object with which you want to associate a link and click the Add Link button.
The Add Link dialog box opens. This dialog box contains the same options as the Insert Link dialog box.
4. Use the Add Link dialog box to select the link target and open other dialog boxes to configure the link.
You can link to targets in the document, other intelligent graphics, or web pages.
*
Elements or other graphics in the current document must have an ID assigned to be considered as a link target.
Use the Insert > Link Target option to add the ID to the element if required.
5. If you have specified a link to another intelligent graphic you can initiate an action in the target graphic when the link is clicked, for example playing an animation or running a specific step in a sequence.
Select the View option to open the Add View Link dialog box. In this dialog you can select Animation or Sequence to configure a link to one of these if your graphic contains them.
Leave these options deselected if you just want to link to a specific view configured for the graphic.
Sequences are supported in PVZ graphics.
6. Click Add when you are done defining the link.
The link is added to the Links table on the Update Graphic Object Links dialog box.
7. Click OK.
The Update Graphic Object Links dialog box closes, and the link is associated with the object in the intelligent graphic. You can click on the associated object in the ActiveX control to activate the link.
