Closing and Exiting a Document
There are two ways to close a document:
close your document without exiting the software; or
close your document and exit the software.
To close or exit a document:
1. Choose File > Close to close your document without exiting.
or
Choose File > Exit to close your document and exit.

If you exit, you perform the same procedures for saving the document as with the Close operation.
2. If you have modified your document since the last time you saved, you are prompted to save the changes. Click the desired button:
To:
Choose:
Save all changes.
Yes
Close or Exit without saving changes since the last save.
No
Cancel Close or Exit leaving the document open.
Cancel (ESC)
3. If you have not saved document changes during the editing session, choosing No returns your document to the version you opened at the start of the session.

If you open other windows while using the software, changes made in these windows might require saving. When you exit, you are prompted to save the documents that have unsaved changes. Simply choose Yes or No at the prompt.
