User Interface Localization
In Arbortext Editor, localization of the user interface is available to display menus, dialog boxes, toolbar popup buttons, and some error messages in the desired language. Check the current Arbortext Editor, Arbortext Styler, and Arbortext Architect Release Notes for specific language information. Arbortext Editor will automatically load the user interface for the corresponding operating system language you configure.
Resetting your system's default language
Use this procedure when your operating system supports Multilingual-User Interface (MUI).
1. From the Windows Control Panel, open the Regional and Language Options dialog box.
2. On the Languages tab, update Language used in menus and dialogs to the desired language.
3. Click OK to close the dialog box and restart your workstation.
4. Start Arbortext Editor. It automatically loads the interface that matches the language.
Overriding the current language with a non-CJK language
Use the following steps to change the Arbortext Editor interface to a non-CJK language when you cannot change your workstation to the desired language.
1. Locate the Environment Variables settings in Windows System from the Windows Control Panel.
2. Create a variable named LC_MESSAGES. Set LC_MESSAGES to the variable value for your desired language.
3. Close the Control Panel and start Arbortext Editor. It automatically loads the interface for the setting of LC_MESSAGES.
Overriding the current language with a CJK language
Use the following steps to change the Arbortext Editor interface to a CJK language when you cannot change your workstation to the desired language.
1. Locate the Environment Variables settings in System from the Windows Control Panel.
2. Create a variable named LC_MESSAGES. Set LC_MESSAGES to the variable value for your desired language.
For example, set LC_MESSAGES to a value of jpn for Japanese, chs for Simplified Chinese, cht for Traditional Chinese, or ko for Korean.
3. From the Windows Control Panel, open the Regional and Language Options dialog box.
4. On the Regional Options tab, set the options to correspond to the language you wish to use.
5. On the Advanced tab, change the Language for non-Unicode programs setting to the desired language.
6. Click OK to closed the dialog box. Restart your workstation when prompted.
7. Start Arbortext Editor. It automatically loads the interface that matches the language settings.
