Editor Stylesheets
When you open a document, Arbortext Editor chooses a stylesheet to use for the Editor view: Arbortext Editor uses this stylesheet to control the formatting of text in the Edit pane. Editor stylesheets can be customized for various purposes, including authoring, editing, browsing, and draft printing.
Arbortext Editor chooses a default stylesheet for Edit view based on the name and location of the available stylesheets.
*
Arbortext Editor will search for a document-level stylesheet first. If one is not found, the local level is searched, then the application level. If both a FOSI and an XSL stylesheet exist at the same level, Arbortext Editor will use the FOSI as the default stylesheet.
*
Arbortext Editor does not support XSL-FO stylesheets in Edit view.
Document-level stylesheets are used first. They are located in the document directory and share a base name with the document (for example, mydoc.xml will use the mydoc.style stylesheet).
Local-level stylesheets are used if no document level stylesheet is found. These are located in the document directory and share a base name with the document type (DTD) being used by the document (for example, axdocbook.style)
The application-level stylesheet is used if no document or local level stylesheet is found. This stylesheet is located in the application directory, and shares a base name with the DTD being used by the document (for example, axdocbook.style)
Stylesheets in the document type directory and the document directory that do not follow the above naming conventions are listed in the Select Stylesheets dialog box even though they are not automatically used for Editor view. You can store stylesheets in any directory using any name, and then select them using the Browse button in the Select Stylesheet dialog box. When you select one of these stylesheets using the Browse button, Arbortext Editor adds them to the list of available stylesheets in the Select Stylesheet dialog box. These stylesheets will then be available for all documents of the same document type for the current Arbortext Editor session.
