Select a Document to Import Dialog Box
Use this dialog box to import a document to XML from a format such as Word, RTF, or FrameMaker MIF
Arbortext Import/Exportusing .
The Select a Document to Import dialog box has the following options:
• File name — The file you wish to import to XML.
• Files of type — The format of the file you are importing. Arbortext Import/Export imports the following formats:

◦ RTF
◦ MS Word DOCX
◦ WordML
◦ FrameMaker MIF
◦ PDF
◦ XML
◦ HTML
◦ Text files
• Output File — The path and file name of the imported XML file. If no path is specified, the imported XML file will be stored in the same directory as the file being imported.
• Map Template — A file mapping content and structures in your source file type to XML structures and content. Map Templates are typically stored on your Arbortext Publishing Engine. Sample Map Templates for several formats are stored in the following directory:
Arbortext-path\lib\importexport\data\STDTemplates
For information on creating Map Templates, refer to the Reference Guide to Arbortext Import available in the Arbortext Help Center and when running the Arbortext Import Workbench by choosing:

• Generate Log File — Creates a file containing informational messages when you import a file. The log file will be stored in the same directory as the imported XML file and will have a file name beginning with the same characters as the imported XML file.
• Enable Map Comments — Comments specified by the Map Template developer will be included with the imported document. This feature is typically used only while developing Map Templates.
• Import — Imports the selected document to XML using the mappings in the selected Map Template.
• Cancel — Closes the dialog box without importing a file.
• Help — Displays this online help topic.
