Finding Processing Instructions
Processing instructions (PIs) differ from elements with attributes in that they are not considered part of the document's content. Therefore, you cannot locate a processing instruction within a document in the same way you would locate text or markup.
To find a processing instruction:
1. Choose Find > Find Processing Instruction. The Find Processing Instruction tab of the Find/Replace dialog box opens.
For more information, see Find/Replace Dialog Box — Find Processing Instruction Tab.
2. In PI Type, choose a processing instruction.
3. In Field Name, choose a field name to limit the search. Only Font and Hyperlink processing instructions have a Field Name.
4. In Field Value, enter a value, if any, to limit the search.
5. Click Find Next. The cursor moves to the first occurrence of the tag. If more than one exists, click Find Next to find the next tag location.
