Inserting an Equation
1. Open a document type that allows equations.
2. Place the cursor in a markup region that permits adding equations. This is usually within a pair of paragraph markup icons.
3. Choose either Insert > Display Equation or Insert > Inline Equation to bring up the Equation Editor window. If either of the commands are grayed, an equation of that type is not allowed at the current cursor position.
4. When the Equation Editor window opens, if the Palette does not open also, choose Commands > Open/Close Palette from the Equation Editor menu bar. Now you can choose symbols directly from the Palette.
5. If you wish to move the Palette to a different location, place the pointer on the title bar, then click and drag the Palette to the desired location.
