Insert Symbol Dialog Box (Windows only)
Use the Insert Symbols dialog box to insert symbols (glyphs) into documents.
The Symbols dialog box has two tabs. The Symbols tab lets you select a specific symbol from a specific font and insert the symbol's character code in the current document. The Character Entities tab lets you select a character entity from a list of character entities declared in the current document and insert the entity into the current document. The Symbols tab can be disabled using the set insertsymboldlgnosymbols command.
Once open, you can insert symbols throughout your document without needing to reopen the Insert Symbols dialog box. Once a symbol is inserted, it is added to the Recently Used Symbols list on the Insert Symbols tab and Symbols toolbar button.
