Web-safe Colors Dialog Box
Use this dialog box to select colors other than the 20 shown on the Color palette and Shading palette. The Web-Safe Colors dialog box is available from the Color palette and Shading palette in any dialog boxes that allow for color selection.
Palette colors — Shows a palette of 216 colors ordered by hue. These 216 colors are considered “web-safe” because they make up the actual palette Mosaic, Netscape Communicator, and Internet Explorer use within their browsers. This palette is optimized for cross-platform use. If the colored specified in the Red, Green, and Blue boxes is a member of this palette, the color will be highlighted. Placing the cursor over a color in the palette will show its RGB value.
Red, Green, Blue scroll boxes — The intensity values of each color specified as a decimal value of 0 to 255. Scrolling through values will select only web-safe colors. You can type any valid color values in the boxes, including non-web-safe colors. The hexadecimal equivalent of the values in the scroll boxes is shown beneath the Make safe button.
Make safe — Converts the values in the Red, Green, Blue scroll boxes to the nearest web-safe value if they are not already web-safe.
Custom colors — Displays the Color chooser dialog box. From that dialog box, select any color regardless of whether it is web-safe or not.
