Inserting an Intelligent Graphic
You insert an intelligent graphic into your document in the same way that you insert any other graphic type. You can use any of the following methods to insert an intelligent graphic:
Insert graphic — For example, you can use the Insert > Graphic menu choice or the Insert Graphic toolbar button.
Insert tag — For example, you can use the Insert Markup dialog box or a similar method to insert a graphic tag.
Resource Manager — For DITA documents, you can use the Resource Manager’s Image tab to insert intelligent graphics.
Insert from the Arbortext Content Manager and Windchill — You can use the PTC Server connection to locate and insert a graphic.
Copy and paste or drag and drop — You can use copy and paste or drag and drop to insert an intelligent graphic from Arbortext Editor or another application.
*
You can only drag and drop an intelligent graphic from Windows Explorer to Arbortext Editor. Copy and paste does not work in this case.
Insert string — For example, you can use the insert function or insert_string command.
For any of these methods, you must insert a graphic with a .cgm, .edz, .iso, .isoz, or .pvz extension for Arbortext Editor to recognize that the graphic is an intelligent graphic.
