PNG

Operating systems — Windows
This graphics format was designed to work with browsers, PNG (portable network graphics) provides lossless storage of raster images. PNG offers many of the same features as GIF, as well as providing several significant additions. PNG can store true color images up to 48 bits per pixel and grayscale images up to 16 bits per pixel. PNG also offers transmission and file integrity error checking.

Arbortext Editor displays and publishes images (for print) with transparent backgrounds as having white backgrounds. Transparent backgrounds are maintained when publishing for screen display (HTML, Web, Wireless, and so on).
Arbortext Editor ignores any alpha channel information when displaying and publishing PNG images.
