Creating a Title Page
All information that you want to appear on the title page of a printed document must occur before the end of the first address element in your document. Everything after the first address end tag within the bookinfo element will appear on the front matter pages following the title page. For instance, imagine that you have two sets of address tags within bookinfo, one right after the other. The information in the first set of address tags and everything before it in the document appears on the title page. The information in the second set of address tags appears on the first front matter page following the title page.
Address formatting and line breaking on the title pages of printed documents is automatically controlled by the underlying stylesheet. The very first address in a document must contain the following elements to provide automated title-page print formatting:
street
pob
city
state
postcode
The following elements are optional for the title page address. If you do not want to include this kind of information on your title page, do not include these elements in the first address element. They are required only if you do want the information related to these elements to appear on the title page.
country
phone
fax
email
otheraddr
Although the first occurrence of address in a document will allow plain text with no markup, title page print formatting is dependent on the markup content of address. We recommend that all information in the first occurrence of address be contained within the appropriate allowed markup as listed above. Printed output will not be correct without this markup.
You can control line breaks for printed output for all subsequent occurrences of address after the first one in the document. In subsequent address elements, the street, pob, city, state, postcode, country, phone, fax, email, and otheraddr elements are not required to produce correct formatting for printed output. You can just enter text between the address tags and use the ENTER key to create line breaks.
