Empty Elements Dialog Box
The Empty Elements dialog box open when you click the Empty Elements link in a Completeness Check Log. Use it to help locate elements classed as empty in your document. The dialog box contains the following options:
Elements — Lists the elements in your document that are classed as empty.
Occurrences — Details the number of times each element is empty in your document.
Next Occurrence — Moves the cursor to the next occurrence of the empty element in the document. This button is enabled when you select an element in the list and there are further places where that element is empty after the current cursor location in the document.
Previous Occurrence — Moves the cursor to the previous occurrence of the empty element in the document. This button is enabled when you select an element in the list and there are further places where that element is empty before the current cursor location in the document.
Refresh — Reloads the list. This button is enabled when you make changes to the document after invoking the dialog box.
An element is classed as empty if all the following criteria are met:
It has no content.
Its content model allows text (CDATA or PCDATA).
It does not represent a table cell in a valid table
It does not have a value for its keyref attribute, either directly or configured in the applicable DCF file (DITA document types)
