Editing and Validating .dcf Files
The DCF Editor is an Arbortext Architect component for creating, editing, and validating document type configuration files (.dcf). .dcf files are for customizing document types for use with Arbortext Editor.
To edit and validate a .dcf file:
1. Open Arbortext Architect.
2. Choose File > Open.
3. Locate the directory in which the document type is saved, and click Select.
4. Once the document type is loaded, choose Edit > DCF. If the document type has a .dcf file, it displays in the Arbortext ArchitectDCF Editor window. If there is no .dcf file associated with this document type, Arbortext Architect automatically creates one.
5. Customize your document type using the settings in the .dcf file.
6. Choose File > Save to save your changes.
7. Before closing the DCF Editor, choose Tools > Validate DCF File. Errors and warnings associated with the .dcf are reported in the Arbortext Architect Document Type Configuration Errors/Warnings window. If there are no errors or warnings, the message No validation errors found displays on the Arbortext Architect status bar.
